ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Senior Merchandiser to join our Sourcing Department. In this strategic role, you will oversee product sourcing, vendor relationships, and supply chain optimization to ensure we deliver quality products at competitive costs while meeting our business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source and evaluate suppliers across multiple regions, conducting due diligence and negotiations to secure favorable terms

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, ensuring consistent quality, delivery, and compliance standards

• Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and cost structures to identify sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives

• Manage product specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements (certifications, testing, sustainability)

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Operations, Finance) to align sourcing strategies with business needs

• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (on-time delivery, quality metrics, responsiveness) and implement corrective actions

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms while managing budgets and cost targets

• Prepare sourcing reports, market analysis, and recommendations for senior management

• Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing practices, labor standards, and environmental regulations

• Travel to supplier facilities and trade shows as needed to build relationships and stay current with market developments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management

• Proven track record of successful vendor negotiations and cost reduction initiatives

• Strong knowledge of global supply chain, import/export regulations, and logistics

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/sourcing systems

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience with specific product categories (apparel, home goods, electronics, etc.)

• Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices

• Familiarity with quality assurance and testing standards

• Language skills (Mandarin, Spanish, or other relevant languages)

• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (APICS, IACCM, etc.)
